Training At Home

The New Normal

“We had to do it in a rush and there are lessons to be learned here,” Andrew Cuomo said. “It basically functioned well and teachers did a phenomenal job stepping up to do this.”

Soccer training remotely is now the new normal. Your playing field is no longer the same for all players which makes the task more challenging. Your coach demands have increased enormously.

To further complicate the process you have to be able to engage, motivate, and challenge in 30 minutes.

Recreation Soccer – On Screen

I will be conducting weekly recreation training on screen for Pre K to 2nd graders. Prior to running my first session, I have started to think about what happens when a player does not have a ball or limited space.

I have decided to not make the practice solely about soccer but incorporate activation exercises, with music. My next task is, how can I create a competitive challenge each player individually, rather than against each other.

Work versus School

Your parents are struggling to keep their kids active physically and engaged throughout the day. Inactivity builds anxiety, not only for players, but also for parents.

This lack of activity now hinders parents’ productivity and free time.

Your ability to deliver a 30 minute training session that addresses skills, engages and motivates is more needed.

5 Ways To Setup Training on Screen

  1. Create Contests – challenges
  2. Create an environment using entertainment
  3. Establish a balance – skills training and activation exercises
  4. Use games and activities with tempo
  5. Challenge players physically and mentally
