United Soccer Coaches Convention

This was my second convention in Baltimore.

In 2008 global icons and former premier league managers, Gerard Houllier and Steve McClaren delivered world-class field and classroom sessions.

This year’s lineup produced a World Champion coach in Jill Ellis, along with UEFA champions league winner Paul Clement. Paul was the assistant coach to Carlo Ancelotti when Real Madrid won La Decima (The 10th).

Innovation Hub

A first at the convention, the Innovation Hub showcased the latest technology used in soccer for coaches, players, and administrators.

On display, were wearable technology vests. augmented reality training devices, and analytic systems.

Some of the companies showcasing the latest gadgets were: Stack Sports, Instat, Hudl, Soccer Scout and Incisiv.

Exhibit Hall

With over 300 exhibitors on hand, you had to imagine all areas of the soccer landscape were covered. On display were companies in the areas of field surface, insurance, apparel, tours, training equipment, training programs, trophies coaching supplies, medical supplies, and audiovisual.

Coaching Education

You can only grow as a coach being in an environment with 6,300 coaches and 13,000 attendees. The game is constanly evolving in coaching tactics, players learning and preparation methods.

With more than 200 educational opportunities involving live field demonstrations and classroom sessions, social functions, and advocacy groups, you were informed, involved and inspired.
